The roots
At the former venue on Platenstraße, theatre was performed for decades. Cinema, neighbourhood theatre, international perspectives and independent stage work shaped the place.
In 2017, Bettina Montazem, Lea Johanna Montazem and Rosa Halina Dahm took over Urania and developed it into an independent, family-run house.
From spoken theatre to music vaudeville
Political and social plays, premieres and acting formed the starting point. Over the years, the desire grew for a format that could bring together music, movement, images and big emotions.
