About the Urania Spiegelpalast
Urania Spiegelpalast is Cologne’s unique address for self-produced variety shows, live music, international acrobatics, and magical events. In a historic, atmospheric setting with up to 350 seats, we offer our guests not only art on stage, but also tailor-made culinary experiences. To strengthen our management team, we are looking for an experienced, organized, and passionate person who will take our gastronomy to the next level.
Your responsibilities

Operational overall management: You steer and oversee the entire gastronomy and service operation for show performances, exclusive events, company celebrations, and private events.

Concept development & Food & Beverage: In close coordination with the theater management, you develop show-related food and beverage concepts, calculate menus, and implement quality standards.

Team leadership & staffing: You lead, motivate, and schedule the service and bar team, manage shift schedules according to event demand, and train new service staff.

Inventory management & purchasing: You took on budget responsibility, negotiate with suppliers, manage reorders, and keep an eye on food and beverage usage as well as key figures.

Guest satisfaction & quality: Before and during the shows, you are a visible host on the floor, ensure smooth operations at the pre-show dinner, and strictly comply with hygiene and HACCP standards.
What you bring

Experience: Solid training in gastronomy / hospitality (e.g. restaurant specialist, hotel specialist) as well as several years of leadership experience in event, theater, or upscale system catering.

Organizational talent: Even when the house is full and the window before show start is tight, you keep a cool head and hold all the strings firmly in your hands.

Hands-on mentality & hospitality: You are a born host, pitch in in service yourself, and lead by example in excellent customer service.

Business understanding: Confident handling of key figures (food and beverage cost, labor costs, calculations) and modern gastronomy / POS software.

Willingness to work industry-standard hours: Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and event peak times.
