Stories told with music and circus
The artistic work began in spoken theatre with political and social subjects, premières and a clear point of view. With variety came a new language: music can carry emotion, acrobatics can make thought visible, and circus can tell a story without needing to explain it. This threefold approach still shapes Urania Spiegelpalast Köln today.
Three women. Three artists. One family.
Urania Spiegelpalast Köln is artistic work and a family business at the same time. Decisions are not passed on to an anonymous head office. Music, direction, dramaturgy, costume, communication, financing and hospitality are in the hands of the people who also stand for the house’s ethos.
